Things you should know before adopting a pet:

Preview an available pet online. The system has a search facility and you can also make online enquiries.
Or come visit them in person at our Shelter at Victoria Drive, Walmer.

Adoptions and Animal Viewing:
     Monday – Friday 10h00 – 15h45
     Saturday/Sunday 10h00 – 15h00
(Please allow a half hour minimum to complete adoption process.)

Come prepared:

  • Bring a cat basket or a lead in case you choose an animal which can be taken home on the same day. Bring the whole family if possible.
  • If you already have a dog, bring it along (on a lead) to make sure it is compatible with your new pet.
  • Only animals under 6 months of age will be allowed to be taken home on the adoption day.
  • Animals 6 months and older have to be sterilised before they can go to their new home.
  • Adoption forms are legal and must be signed by the new owner who must be over 21 years.
  • Stray animals cannot be adopted until it is established that their owner cannot be found.

Complete the adoption once you, members of your household (including your pets) and our staff agree that you’ve found a great match.
Please note:   In order keep the stress levels in our animals as low as possible, your pets are not allowed at our kennels and/or pens. Please bring a family member or friend to “dog sit” while you stroll the kennels/pens and meet prospective pets.

Adoption Fees includes spay/neutering, 1st inoculation, deworming, collar and tag.
